#7 GRAIN-FREE

While grain has been heralded in our culture as a key food group, even the whole-grain variety is not very good for us.

With a few exceptions (which I’ll get to in a moment), most grains are inflammatory in the body, acidic, gluey, yeast-feeding, and difficult to digest. They agitate the intestine, resulting in inflammation, bloating, and fluid imbalances, and contribute greatly to weight gain.

They also reduce mental clarity.

Thus, generally speaking, grains are not an ideal go-to food in the modern diet.

If you love grains and must have them, that’s okay. But if you want superior health, energy, and weight loss, you should avoid a grain-based diet.

Also, keep in mind that sprouted grains are far superior to regular whole grains.

The highest-quality grains are the ancient pseudo-grains, which are gluten-free and easier to digest than cereal grains but do have a similar nutritional profile.

These include millet, quinoa, buckwheat, and amaranth.

Typically, some grains can be included with successful detoxification results, but it is best to avoid them whenever possible and to find nongrain options for your favorite grain-based foods.

Fortunately for all of us, Chef Doris has discovered many brilliant and satisfying ways of doing this in her recipes.

The Raw Food Detox Diet is About More Than What You Eat

The Raw Food Detox Diet is About More Than What You Eat

THE RAW FOOD DETOX DIET IS ABOUT MORE THAN WHAT YOU EAT

While there is no doubt that our bodies need lots of motion, flexing, and fluidity for optimum performance, those of you who think you have to be a slave to an exercise regimen are in for the best news of your life: you can reach your perfect shape without any formal exercise when you apply the steps in the Raw Food Detox Diet.
Your skin tone will also improve because your cells are going to become healthier and tighter. Most of my Manhattan clients do a little more than the normal to-and-fro walking that the city demands.

Cleaning your body is likely going to trigger a desire to clear and cleanse your living space to reflect the inner cleansing that is taking place. You are more than likely going to feel inspired to create more clarity in your communications with others and live from a more honest space.

With this inner cleansing will come a greater sense of confidence in yourself and honor for your fellow man.
On a more physical level, you are going to experience greater levels of wellness and be less dependent on medications and fears relating to illness. Once you experience life at this level, it’s unlikely that you’ll want to go back to your previous habits.

You will achieve fast results that will last—even improve—over a lifetime.

Detoxifying the body through raw foods is a way of living. The goal is not to detox and then “retox,” but rather to learn how to love eating for constant improvement, reaching higher and higher levels of health and leanness.

One of the legion problems with traditional diets is that no one wants to maintain them long term. While the Raw Food Detox Diet starts to work as early as your first meal, it’s created to offer the best living experience available, so that you’ll want to make this your permanent lifestyle.

Cleansing Foods

Non-Yeast-Feeding Cleansing Foods

We are far more vulnerable to yeast overgrowth today than we’ve ever been before, thanks to higher levels of acidity (both in and outside the body) and constant exposure to environmental estrogens.
The combination of acidity and excessive amounts of estrogen creates the perfect breeding ground for yeast and fungus (yeast is a single-celled fungus). So all of us, but especially women, need to be vigilant against developing and feeding an over-yeasted system.

For many people, this means creating a very yeast-sensitive diet—by eliminating almost all sugars and starches. This may sound really daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.

First of all, you can start starving off your yeast colonies immediately just by consuming fewer sugars and starches than you typically consume.

However, if you are really struggling with yeast-related symptoms (such as excess weight, bloat, moodiness, and skin issues), you will want to cut way down on sugars and starches until you’ve eradicated those yeast colonies.

Unfortunately, fruit is a yeast feeder, because as far as yeast is concerned, sugar is sugar. In an ideal environment, fruit would be an ideal food for humans; but in the modern environment of high acidity and excess estrogens, fruit can perpetuate the yeast problem.

Also, the way fruits are grown and prematurely picked today, they are often more acidic than they should be for human consumption, and many fruits are becoming yeasted themselves due to soil imbalances and pesticides.

Personal Authenticity

Personal Authenticity

“Your body is the harp of your soul. It is yours to bring forth sweet music or confused sounds.” – Kahlil Gibran

Instead of continuing to value youth for the sake of youth and flawlessness for the sake of flawlessness, I find that as people awaken they are starting to look less for commonly held ideals of perfection in terms of external beauty and more for beauty that shines from within and manifests without in the form of a fresh, natural glow.

Personal authenticity is growing more valuable while plastic perfection is being seen for the illusion that it is.

Any good art designer or plastic surgeon can produce a perfect image. That’s old hat. The new beauty is one that shines from within – not just some image of commonly accepted perfection that we are conditioned to call “beauty.” Clarity and love are the new beauty and, over time, those who embody unconditional love and increase the love-light within themselves will be seen to be physically more attractive.

Plastic surgery, chemicals and the like place more density and poison in our being. With your New Energy Body you will naturally blossom into greater visual beauty too!

The people that I know of that are leaders and think for themselves are choosing friends, dates and mates who embody this inner beauty first; beauty for the sake of beauty is not “de rigeur” and will eventually be recognized as meaningless as more and more people awaken to the illusion of the old beauty.

People want to be around other people that make them feel good and are good to others. I mention this specifically because so many of my readers are in search of ways to become more attractive and may have been drawn to this book in an attempt to improve their physical appearance.

That will come; I can assure you – for the rejuvenation of the body, the heart and your hidden energy source are all inexorably connected.

An authentic glow, the result of dropping old patterns, aggression and fears and truly being oneself is the new “hot.” Are you ready to sizzle?
